Intro: Welcome my Valiant Few! I apologize for taking so long to post this subject and our newest blog. My health has not been cooperation plus this subject is lengthy and in depth.
Farming for Materials
Our boss, Nutsy, was kind enough to get me this information for each sector. Like most we are trying to farm, (in open space), for materials to build our destroyers. As you have experienced, gathering the materials from the process of farming are not as easy and readily available as the game blog states they are. To help you we have compiled the best places to farm within the designated sectors and Home Stations.- Jericho Station
- Terra-morphing Station
- Empire Sectors
- Felony Border
- Warden Out Post Ruins
- Scrapyard
- Collapsed Laboratory
- Federation
- Poseidon Complex
- Barter Zone
- Research Center
Procurement of Materials
The best way to Procure Materials for destroyers or any other ship upgrade is to buy bundles and credits to buy the parts you need. My guess is that like me you don't have extra funds around to buy upgrades etc. So here is what you can do until you get some extra funds;
- Scrap upgrade kits for parts.
- Go to the Store and click on my items
- Select Mk2 "Upgrade Kits"
- Selling gets you money for upgrades
- Scrapping for parts option will break down the component to it's basic parts. This will allow you to gain parts needed to build your destroyer.
Announcements:
Leadership would like to welcome all new members. Boss man has 2 main rules; First team up with an experienced member or officer and ask questions, and Secondly have fun! As you know when you just click P.V.E. OR P.V.P. you fall on the fate of the gods and might end up with a bad squad. To avoid the Blue Falcons, (code for buddy F$ckers), it is highly recommended to find a team mate and invite them to squad. You can also become a recruit or a Training NCO one on one with a person from the corp. you really click with. The more questions you ask the more you know. If you need to know something right away and Leadership is not on use our FB page to post a question. Myself or Nutsy will answer you promptly.

Great post and good info, thanks for sharing it!
ReplyDeleteYou are welcome.I hope it was helpful because the farming thing still is quite hard.
DeleteHere's a tip I just discovered. When mining in OS I took out my best engineering frigate, figuring it would have capacity for cargo as well as a good number of defenses and shield and hull. I'd go out and farm but always got jumped and couldn't easily avoid it. So would end up fighting. Sometimes winning, sometimes 'not so much'. But ended up spending more time fighting than gathering stuff. And when I'd get destroyed carrying a full load, just in reach of a gate to safety... that just sucks.
ReplyDeleteSo more recently I switched to a fast nimble ship with a loadout intentionally light on firepower but heavy on maneuverability/acceleration, hiding, etc. I zip between spots like a hummingbird. Occasionally I get pelted and take damage, but I just flit away to another spot and look for other loot. The ship is fast enough to go back and forth many times to the deposit-bots. And if by chance I do get destroyed, I wasn't carrying all that much anyway.
Avoidance rather than confrontation. It's kinda fun playing pacifist at times.
